woke up on the in-between
i don't have my head on straight
because i left it by the bed this morning

it's such a rhythm in my life these days lately
because i lied to you

i lied to you honey

i was too busy counting shadows on the wall
cleaning up the bathroom counters
before every one's awake
makes me tired
because i can't keep myself together

because i do my best to reach my own demands
the truth is i am tittering on the edge of
terrible thrills
a evening really passes when your cleaning up broken glass
drowning in the year that's passing
too fast
saying good morning to the dead
and ignoring the sun going down

i lied to you
i lied to you
i shaved my head at the start of the year
saying goodbye to anyone who lent me a favor
someone lend me a favor
angry at the weather and myself
its just another graceless cluster
waiting for it to be torn apart

cemeteries

cemeteries are a heavenly place to stay
with headstones popping out of the ground
in and out of place
like broken piano keys

weeds growing over
creating a woven blanket
decorating every last one in a new fashion

bones are just misplaced ornaments
creating a carpet of left behind memories

so next time you walk in one
mind where you're stepping
